Matt Dregely
Boy's Gymnastics Team Coach
Advice to students:
"Try your hardest. Otherwise, you will always look back and wonder if you could have done more."
Matt is one of our coaches who has grown up here at USA. Since age three, when his parents put him in gymnastics to harness some of his energy, he has been in and out of the gym. He started competing for USA at age six and continued on through college, where he joined the Men's Gymnastics team at Arizona State University. When shoulder surgery took him out of competition, he began coaching. Now 6 years later, he is thankful for the opportunity to coach because, he says, "it's like a second chance to do it all over again". He loves coaching here at USA because he spent so much time here as a kid, so it is like a second home to him.
Currently coaching our boy's levels 6-8 in the evenings, Matt also has a day job for the City of Tempe as a Water Meter Reader. When he has free time, he likes to barbeque and watch movies at home, especially "explosive movies", and read Tom Clancy books. Also, he looks up to Bart Conner and likes to eat Macaroni and Cheese and Charley's Steakery.
