Amanda Cotey
Girl's Recreational and Team Gymnastics Coach

Advice to students:
“Don’t cheat on strength!”

Currently Amanda coaches our Girls Gymnastics Preteam, novice, and level 2 and 3 recreational gymnastics classes. She has been coaching since retiring from our AZ Illusions Gymnastics Team here at USA 3 1/2 years ago. She says she loves all of her girls and likes coaching because it allows her to remain in the gym and stay involved with her favorite sport.  We love her because she cares so much about each one of her students, and it shows.

Amanda has grown up here in Mesa, and is now at ASU studying Molecular Biosciences and Biotechnology as a pre-med student. In her free time she does research for the Biodesign Institute at ASU, volunteers and Banner Desert Medical Center, and enjoys reading, playing with her dogs, and spending time with her friends. Her favorite book is To Kill a Mockingbird and movie is Ferris Bueller’s Day Off. She likes the Dr. Seuss quote “Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don’t matter and those who matter don’t mind.”
